About us - Van der Valk Hotel Drachten

With more than a hundred hotels in the Netherlands and abroad, Van der Valk is one of the largest family businesses in the Netherlands. Founder Martinus van der Valk has cared for more than 800 family members. In January 2001 my parents (Corry van der Valk and Tjomme Langebeek) opened the hotel in Drachten.

Hotel Drachten, Groningen-Hoogkerk, Texel-De Koog

In 2021 it was 20 years ago that the toucan landed in Drachten. An anniversary we are proud of! My parents, Corry and Tjomme, handed over the hotel to me over two years ago. My brothers Stijn and Derk also each run their own Van der Valk establishment; Stijn has been in charge of Hotel Groningen-Hoogkerk since 2017, and Derk has been running the Van der Valk Hotel Texel-De Koog location together with his girlfriend Lisa since 2021.

Surprisingly natural

With our location on the A7 highway and other roads, the bus station (Transferium East) behind our hotel and our location near De Alde Feanen National Park, Van der Valk Hotel Drachten brings together the concepts of business, the 'get away' feeling and comfort. Enjoying comfortably, that's what we would like to call it. We want to make this comfort accessible to everyone. We are always your trusted address for comfortable overnight stays, a delicious dinner or for a cozy get-together. We do our best to tailor our services to your needs.
