History

In 1939 Martien and Rie van der Valk started a restaurant in Voorschoten. With hard work and a hospitable, homely approach, their own business became a success. In the years after the Second World War they built a number of restaurants together with their 11 children.

The vision of hospitality by Martien and Rie is still the basis of the successful "Van der Valk formula". Their attitude and entrepreneurial spirit is an example for younger generations of "Valken".

In the meantime, the company has been expanded by its grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the largest catering company in the Netherlands with 59 offices and a further 25 hotels in countries around the world. More information? In November 2010 the book appeared "Van der Valk, the eventful history of a Dutch Horeca family" in which the historical story is expressed. Our reception has these books for sale for € 9.95 each.
